Introduction

Advances in climbing within a variety of industries has afforded us more efficient and safer access and improved movement within the canopy of trees. ICA offers ranging techniques from the arboricultural, caving and industrial roped access industries in assisting people in their climbing requirements.

ICA climbers are trained by U.K arboricultural colleges and qualified to National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) standards. They are all adept tree climbers with a high regard for health and safety and the ability to manoeuver swiftly to all areas within the canopy of trees. ICA aims to provide access in and around the canopy of trees, tailored to meet the specific demands of each individual project or expedition. This can be achieved using either a couple of specialist climbers to assist researchers, tourists, photographers, hobbyists or arborists in their access and rigging requirements, or by using a higher number of skilled climbers.

Perspectives

Trees are enigmatic organisms with an unimposing tranquility. The purpose behind how trees grow, develop, react and respond to environmental changes almost displays a level of consciousness. Considering our strong respect for sustainable living we feel that the more people are able to interact with, and discover about trees, the more their affinity and affection for trees will grow. This could potentially be a valuable ally in the preservation of woodland ecosystems.

Climbing is imperative in creating the opportunity to research the least accessible and explored part of forest ecosystems but it is also an exhilarating pastime. It is a liberating feeling to move freely about the canopy of a tree and the exposure to height refines the senses. The higher you climb into the canopy, there is a greater distance from the worries of life.
